Stuff the Backpacks

What an overwhelming response the Nationwide Tour Wives Association had to the "Stuff the Backpacks" project for the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Pennsylvania! Our goal was to collect school supplies for 125 children for their after school program. Not only was this achieved, but we managed to collect supplies and monetary donations for all the children who began the program in September, as well as for those who will be attending the program in the future.

The Nationwide Tour Wives Association would like to thank the golf club companies who donated backpacks and hats: Ping, TaylorMade, Cleveland, Titleist and Oakley.  The feedback from the Boys & Girls Club was fabulous and the children really loved the backpacks!  The support for this event from the players, TOUR Staff, tournament volunteers and general public was tremendous!  Donations came in all week, and by the time things wrapped up on Sunday afternoon, we had filled the back of a mini-van with school supplies and raised $590.

This project received support by so many people, and after speaking with Laura Gentile at the Boys & Girls Club, the parents and children were so appreciative and excited by the generosity of all the donors.  Many thanks to all who participated and helped make such a difference in this community.
