Mock Baby Shower - Sunrise of Pasco County
The PODS Championship - Tampa
By Julie Petrovic

Dr. Sheila Johnson, the new owner of the Innisbrook Resort, hosted a luncheon for the PTWA and a mock baby shower for Sunrise of Pasco County, a domestic violence center, during the PODS Championship.  It was a big success!  So many of our members attended and brought clothes, diapers, baby seats, laundry detergent, money and toiletries to support the women living in the shelter.  I was honored to represent the PTWA and presented a check for $3000 to Sunrise.  Dr. Johnson matched this check with $3000 of her own.  The Valero Energy Foundation, our partners from the Valero Texas Open, heard about our event and matched our donation of $3000.  Since my daughters and I volunteer at this charity I know these types of donations mean so much to an organization dependent on public support.  As a PTWA member, I know that we try and leave behind a legacy of giving in the cities where the PGA TOUR plays, but it was inspirational to be able to experience what our giving means first hand.  So I write this article as your vice president of communications and I give our membership my heart felt thanks as a volunteer for Sunrise of Pasco County!

We have several fundraising and Volunteer Service Projects in the planning stages. Watch for more information as the details are confirmed!
