GLASA
Bank of America Open

By: Stacey Schultz

On Tuesday, May 27, the Nationwide Tour Wives teamed up with athletes from the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association (GLASA) for a fun afternoon of bowling and bocce ball during the Bank of America Open.  Though we had some hot players, the GLASA athletes proved we were no match for their bocce skills and bowling expertise.  Good thing our husbands are the athletes in the family!

The Nationwide Tour Wives Association was represented by the skills of Amy Gutchewski, Mai Roberge, Nicole Chalmers, Stacey Schultz, Katie Percy, Chastity Mathis, Kristina Putnam, Kyleigh Kruse and Mindy Dickerson.  We were joined by Jessica Martin, Johnny Doetsch, Seth Goldberg, Samantha S. and Sara Goldberg from GLASA, as well as their staff and parents.

The afternoon provided the wives an opportunity to see the positive impact that the involvement in sports, both recreational and competitive, can have on a child’s life.  GLASA provides children with physical and visual impairments adaptations to be able to play the same sports as their peers year round.  From tennis to water skiing, this fabulous organization believes that no child should sit on the sidelines, and works to provide the tools and environment for every child to pursue their interests at every level.
