Nicklaus Children's Hospital Honda Classic

During the Honda Classic, PGA TOUR Wives Association representatives joined Barbara Nicklaus to tour the St. Mary’s Medical Center Nicklaus Children’s Hospital pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. From the giant bear that greets you when you arrive, to the beautifully decorated halls and rooms, every detail is designed to put patients and families at ease. Patient pictures proudly decorate walls and many of the ceiling tiles were painted by children during their stays.

The hospital has been designed with the most current and innovative technology available. Some baby beds have a built-in scale so a baby can be weighed without having to be removed; some beds are set up so surgery can be performed in the bed, if necessary, minimizing trauma.  And because parents generally do not want to leave their children, the hospital provides relaxing suites down the hall that allow mom and dad to nap, shower or just compose themselves.
